A system or machine that treats air in a defined usually enclosed area through a refrigeration cycle in which warm air is removed and replaced with cooler and more humid air . By removal of heat and moisture from an occupied room results in comfort-ability of the occupants by passing through cool and more about humid air. The complete system of heating, ventilation and air conditioning is referred to as HVAC. An air conditioner contains the following equipment's in order for it to work and they include a compressor, condenser, an evaporator coil, and a fan. Absorption of heat is the first process which is then transferred to the refrigerant and pumped to the outdoor unit.
Despite being a chemical the refrigerant still does it work of removing heat from the interior surface and transferring it to the outdoor areas. Before transferring to the outdoor unit the unwanted heat is pumped through a system of piping to the outside coil. Most air conditioning uses split systems as they way of operation. A split system means that they consist of a hot side and a condensing side which include the compressor, coil and the fan.
An air conditioner cold side usually contains an expansion valve and a cold coil which is usually part of the furnace or the air handler. Air is cooled through an evaporator coil which has been blown through a the furnace. A series of air ducts are used to dispense air that has been cooled throughout the home. The heart of an air conditioner is a compressor in which acts as the pump.
The compressor is controlled by a thermostat and causes the refrigerant to flow through the system. The refrigerant passes through the condenser coil and the cooler air passes across the coil. Condensation of the refrigerant from the gas to liquid state occurs when the cooler air absorbs heat. The high pressure, high temperature liquid reaches the expansion valve. A series of connected piping to a furnace or air handler that blows indoor air across it is an evaporator coil. Air absorbs heat and is caused by the coil. Evaporator coil causes the coil to absorb heat from the air. Through ducting the cooled air is then delivered to the home. Air conditioner final process is that the refrigerant then flows back to the compressor where the cycle starts over again. The main maintenance task is to ensure the efficiency of the conditioner s is through routinely cleaning and replacing the filters.
However there are various functions of air conditioning which are; to remove heat and moisture, cool rooms and also display and store delicate products. The cooling or dehumidifying of rooms filled with heat most especially electronics like computer servers and amplifiers have an inbuilt air conditioning system. Air conditioners have a fans which distributes cooled air to occupy the space resulting to cooling effect while at the same time removing heat and moisture.
